Recently discovered iron parts of a  WW1 submarine have come to light on  Lindsway Beach

Although built in Wales the  brigantine Constance Ellen was wrecked on Herd Beach at Tyneside .  Over the last three years her timbers have emerged from the sand and can be seen at most Low Tides.
